Serzh Sargsyan not tyro at Karabakh process
There were two approaches - informative and politological - to the meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents, according to a Russian expert.

"There was no breakthrough because of different philosophy applied to the conflict," Sergei Markedonov, head of the interethnic department at the Institute for Political and Military Analysis, said during Yerevan-Moscow-Baku television space bridge.

"On the one hand it's Azerbaijan bellicose rhetoric as a consequence of syndrome of the defeated. On the other hand, it's the claim of Karabakh Armenians to self-determination. There aren't even two or three provisions the sides could agree on."

"Serzh Sargsyan is not a tyro at the Karabakh process. He was a prominent figure at the beginning of the Karabakh movement. He was Armenia's Defense Minister and Prime Minister. It would be naïve to think that he is unaware of the process. The most positive fact s that the meeting took place," Markedonov said, adding that frequent skirmishes at the contact line of the Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces prove that the sides are not prepared for an agreement yet.
