Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said during the commemoration of the 1979 Islamic Revolution that Lebanon should consider obtaining air defense missiles from Iran, Al-Masdar News reports.
“I’m a friend of Iran, and I’m willing to bring the Lebanese Army air defence systems from Iran to confront Israel,” the Hezbollah leader said during his speech.
“Will the Lebanese government dare to accept the Iranian proposals? Why should Lebanon remain afraid to cooperate with Iran?” he added.
While Iran has the Russian-made S-300 system, they also have a number of domestically-made air defense missiles that they produced themselves.
However, should Lebanon accept arms from Iran, they will be cutoff militarily from the west, along with being sanctioned.
