Parliament Committee launches proceedings against Gagik Tsarukyan

The Armenian parliament’s Commission on the Prevention of Corruption has initiated proceedings against lawmaker Gagik Tsarukyan due to his participation in the management of Multi Group concern.

The reason for initiating proceedings was a June 23-dated record of a meeting in the Multi Group concern, signed by Tsarukyan, which relieved the company director from his post and appointed a new one.

The document also revealed that the deputy personally participated in the management of the company, nominated a candidate for the director, supported the decision to dismiss the former director, appoint a new one, as well as give instructions to the director.

Under the Armenian Law on Public Service, public servants may not hold other positions unless stipulated by their status, and can’t work in commercial organizations, engage in entrepreneurial activity, or be paid for work other than scientific, educational and creative.
