Georgia reports 23 new Covid-19 cases, reduced quarantine period

Georgia on Monday, June 1 reported 23 coronavirus infections, brining the number of active cases to 204.

The country has announced 1306 Covid-19 cases, including 17 deaths and 1085 recoveries, since the beginning of the outbreak.

According to fresh figures from Georgia's health authorities, a total of 7597 individuals are under quarantine, while 261 others are watched by doctors.

Under a new government decision, people are now required to stay in quarantine for 12 days instead of the previous 14.

Also, travelers arriving in Georgia must have a negative coronavirus test result to be allowed in the country and will be obliged to take fresh Covid-19 tests every 72 hours throughout 12 days.
