Suren Poghosyan Moscow Open 2009 Group B winner
Armenian grandmaster Gabriel Sargsyan scored a victory over Russia's Pavel Potapov in the 9th tour of Moscow Open 2009 festival, gaining 5.5 points and sharing 47th-87th positions along with the other participants.

Robert Hovhannesyan, David Petrosyan and Aghasi Inants came up with the same result.

Rafael Vahanyan, with 6 points, was the best Armenian in Group A.

The winner of the tournament was recognized U.S. grandmaster Sergei Onuschuk.

Armenian chess players from Group B showed a better result. Suren Poghosyan gained the lead with 8.5 points. David Gevorgyan came up second with 8 points. They will be awarded 150000 and 100000 respectfully.

The closing ceremony will take place on February 9.
