The Armenian people are ready for compromise, but not capitulation, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Monday, October 26.

"What I can say is that we, the Armenian people, are ready even for painful compromise, but is the Armenian nation ready for capitulation? I think the Armenian nation is by no means ready for capitulation. No matter how much impossible it may seem given our limited resources, the Armenian people must find resources to resist and defend their rights," Pashinyan said in a live address.

According to the Prime Minister, it is necessary to concentrate resources "in order to incline Azerbaijan to compromise."

Pashinyan said Azerbaijan does not seek a solution to the problem but rather demands the capitulation of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), whereas the Armenian side has been flexible in its approaches, which the Azerbaijani side has never accepted.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
