Russian President Vladimir Putin has said it is difficult to accuse Turkey of violating international law in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, "although tastes may vary".

Putin described Turkey's siding with Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as "the geopolitical consequences of the collapse of the USSR"

"The role of Turkey is well known, it has been repeatedly noted in Azerbaijan, and the Turkish side never hid it either. They supported Azerbaijan unilaterally," Putin said in an interview with Russia-24.

"Well, what can I say? These are the geopolitical consequences of the collapse of the Soviet Union," he stated.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev have signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Karabakh (Artsakh) President Arayik Harutyunyan has said he has agreed to the deal signed by Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan.
