The trilateral statement of the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan on Nagorno-Karabakh, signed in November 2020, is being consistently implemented, Russian President Vladimir Putin told Davos Agenda Week via video conference on Wednesday, January 27.

According to him, Moscow has made active mediation efforts to stop the armed conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, TASS reports.

"As you know, a trilateral statement of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan and Armenia was signed in November. It is important that, by and large, it is being consistently implemented. We have managed to stop the bloodshed, which is most important, to achieve a complete ceasefire and begin the stabilization process," Putin said.

"The international community is now faced with the task of providing assistance to the affected areas, solving humanitarian problems associated with the return of refugees, the restoration of destroyed infrastructure, the protection and restoration of historical, religious and cultural monuments."

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side has returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
