Yerevan to host Shushi Carpet Museum exhibition from Feb. 20

An exhibition of rugs from the Shushi Carpet Museum will open at Yerevan's Tamanyan Architecture Museum-Institute on February 20.

The carpets are from the personal collection of the museum's founder Vardan Astsatryan and were evacuated from Shushi on November 1, roughly one week before the city fell under Azerbaijan's control.

The oldest exhibit is 350 years old. Narek Van Ashughatoyan will be curating the exhibition.

Shushi Carpet Museum opened its doors to the public in 2013. Its fate after Azerbaijan's invasion in fall 2020 is unknown.
