Case of Seven: Court has ordered a psychiatric forensic examination for Shant Harutyunyan
Legal proceedings on Case of Seven resumed in the regular court of Shengavit community. Recently the National Congress of Armenia claimed Shant Harutyunyan was in a serious condition. The judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan considered a petition for Shant Harutyunyan's hospital treatment and resolved to suspend the case till full recovery of the accused, ordering a psychiatric forensic examination for Shant Harutyunyan . The judge noted that there were reasons to suppose Shant Harutyunyan is suffering from mental disorder.

Another accused Suren Sirunyan asserted that he noticed no signs mental disorder in his cellmate.
Mnatsakan Martirosyan rejected petitions filed by the attorneys and the victim's legal successor. He refused to consider it, alleging that similar petitions called his impartiality into question. The hearing on Case of Seven will be continued tomorrow in the regular court of Shengavit community with one accused - Grigor Voskerchyan - at the bar, because the other six were removed from the courtroom over disrespect for the court for 10 days.

The Case of Seven includes accusations against MP Myasnik Malkhasyan under articles 225.3 (disorders, which entailed murder), 300.1 (attempted accroachment of state power), 38-316.2 (deforce committed in complicity), Sasun Mikaelyan under articles 225.3, 300.1, and 235.1/2 (illegal purchase and sale of weapons and explosive assemblies) and Hakob Hakobyan under articles 225.3 and 300.1 of the Penal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

Besides, legal proceedings are underway against former Foreign Minister Alexander Arzumanyan under articles 225.3 and 300.1, former Mayor of Abovyan Grigor Voskerchyan, former Minister of Interior Vano Siradeghyan's security officer Suren Sirunyan and Shant Harutyunyan under articles 225.3 and 300.1 of the RA Penal Code.
