Russia and Turkey will contribute to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday, June 30, RIA Novosti reports.
"Today we agreed with [Turkish Foreign Minister] Mevlut Cavusoglu that we will help, each using their own capabilities, the reconciliation of the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, creating conditions for Armenians and Azerbaijanis, and people of other nationalities to live on these lands side by side as good neighbors," he told a press conference following talks with Cavusoglu.
"And then, we believe, any issues, including political ones, will be much easier to solve."
Armenia has no diplomatic relations with either Turkey, or Azerbaijan. Russia, on the contrary, is Armenia's strategic partner.
