World Cup Qualifiers: Armenia drop one notch after drawing Iceland 1:1

Armenia drew the World Cup Qualifiers match against Iceland 1:1 on Friday, October 8, as Kamo Hovhannisyan and Ísak Bergmann Jóhannesson netted one goal each for their teams.

Hovhannisyan (Armenia) opened the score of the game on the 34th minute with a left footed shot from the left side of the six yard box to the bottom right corner. He was assisted by Lucas Zelarayán, who has only recently joined the national squad.

With 12 points in total, Armenia currently sit third in Group J behind Germany (18 points) and North Macedonia (12 points).

Armenia will face Romania on October 11 in another away match of the World Cup qualifying round.
