The exhibition “We will return. Rescued Fragments" opened in Stepanakert, the capital of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), on Monday, October 11, Artsakhpress reports.

The exhibition was put together by the Public Council for Cultural Heritage, the State Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Europe Hotel, with the latter also hosting the event.

Armine Hayrapetyan, Director of the State Service for the Protection of Historical Environment, noted that each rescued relic has its own destiny.

Karabakh's Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Lusine Gharakhanyan said, meanwhile, that "there is silence in each exhibit, and a terrible scream in that silence."

According to Sergey Shahverdyan, the Chairman of the Public Council for Cultural Heritage, state agencies and many individuals responded to their initiative at once. "Each exhibit has its own story. Among the rescued exhibits are the relics from Shushi, the bell of the church of Hin Tagher village and many other important cultural values for all of us," Shahverdyan added.

The exhibition will be run through November 11.
