Armenia: Opposition to re-start street campaigns in Yerevan

The opposition in Armenia is re-starting street campaigns with the first demonstrations slated for November 9 and 10, according to Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a member of ARF Dashnaktsutyun and lawmaker from Armenia bloc.

"Our goal is to prevent any new concessions at all costs," Saghatelyan said in a Facebook post.

"We have repeatedly declared that our struggle has not stopped, that we have planned concrete steps in the near future. I have said dozens of times, I am repeating again, our goal is to prevent a new capitulation, the Turkification of Armenia."

Saghatelyan noted that the formation of what he described as "pan-Armenian resistance" is "vital" and the only way to avoid new losses.

"The homeland is what matters, not the removal of authorities in a lost homeland," he added.

RIA Novosti and Aliq Media reported earlier that a trilateral meeting of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan may take place in Moscow by November 10. After negotiations, trilateral statements could be signed.

A spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry claimed, however, that no such meeting has been planned.
