Authorities in Armenia have been holding "various meetings and discussions" since November 14 when the Azerbaijani military invaded the country's territory in one of the eastern sections of the border, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a Security Council meeting on Monday, November 15.

Azerbaijani forces first violated Armenia’s border in several sections in the provinces of Syunik and Gegharkunik on May 12 and 13 and are still refusing to withdraw their troops from the area. Since then, almost a dozen Armenian servicemen have been killed in Azerbaijan’s shooting, a dozen others have been wounded.

The Defense Ministry on Sunday denied publications and social media posts alleging that Azerbaijani armored vehicles had entered Armenia's territory. The Security Council, however, confirmed the news on Monday.

"The purpose of our meeting today is to sum up our discussions, as well as to provide the public with complete information about the events that have been taking place," Pashinyan said.

According to him, chief of Army General Staff Artak Davtyan was supposed to deliver a report on the situation.

"We will analyze the situation, we will try to make decisions in several directions on our actions aimed at the protection of the security, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia," the PM added.

The Defense Ministry said in a statement earlier that the situation was relatively stable as of Sunday evening, after the Azerbaijani troops attempted to advance and an exchange of fire ensued.
