A 200-MW solar park will be built in Armenia, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan said on Facebook Friday, November 26.
Sanosyan revealed that a government support agreement has been signed between Armenia and Masdar, a UAE-government owned renewable energy company.
The Minister reminded that Masdar won the competition with a final bid of USD 0.0290 per kWh.
In 2019, Masdar and the Armenian National Interest Fund CJSC (ANIF) entered a joint development agreement to add 400 MW of solar PV capacity in Armenia, half of which will come from the above-mentioned project. According to Masdar, talks are ongoing for the development of the other 200-MW portion.
