Putin, Macron talk Karabakh settlement

Russian and French Presidents Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday, December 21 discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement, the Kremlin reports.

In a phone conversation on Tuesday, the two reportedly expressed satisfaction with the stabilization of the situation and the efforts being made to establish a peaceful life, restore economic and transport ties in the region.

The Presidents confirmed Russia and France work on these matters and in the future intend to work in sync.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9, 2020 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
