Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has said that both Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev are interested in achieving peace in South Caucasus.

"I have personally invested a lot of effort into this process. I have talked many times with President Aliyev, Prime Minister Pashinyan and put forward this initiative. Georgia has always had a correct role in the Caucasus, and we must strengthen this direction," Garibashvili noted.

According to him, the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan are striving to take relations between the two countries to a new level, in order to be able to discuss infrastructure, trade, economic and other projects. Garibashvili believes that he plays an important role in this.

“If we achieve such success between the three countries (the signing a humanitarian agreement - Ed.), it will benefit Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and the entire region,” he said.

Tbilisi has repeatedly proposed to provide a platform for negotiations between Yerevan and Baku. Aliyev and Pashinyan have both noted that they see an important role of Russia as a mediator.
