Moscow believes it necessary for "all parties" to comply with the previously reached agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday, March 28.

Peskov's comments came amid renewed violence in Nagorno-Karabakh, as Azerbaijan stormed into the zone of the responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers stationed in the area and is refusing to completely withdraw its forces from strategic heights.

Peskov also commented on the Artsakh Security Council's request to send more peacekeepers to Karabakh, noting that question should be addressed to the Russian Defense Ministry.

"This question should be asked to our military. They are in contact with the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides. Now the main thing is to ensure that all parties continue to comply with the terms of relevant agreements," he was cited as saying by TASS.

On Sunday, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed the Azerbaijani side carried out the withdrawal of its units from near the settlement of Parukh. It added that Azerbaijan’s troops had twice violated the ceasefire in Karabakh’s Askeran region, where the Defense Ministry said three troops were killed.

However, the Armenian Foreign Minister on Monday published maps which showed that Azerbaijan has not withdrawn its forces from the village of Parukh and the heights nearby.
