Turkey has offered to hold another normalization meeting with Armenia in Ankara or Yerevan, but so far there has been no response, a diplomatic source in Ankara told RIA Novosti.
"If we are talking about the process of normalizing relations between the two countries, it would be logical for the negotiations to take place without the participation of third countries," the source said.
"We have proposed holding a meeting in Ankara or Yerevan, but have not received a response yet."
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday, July 11 pledged to build on a recently established process aimed at normalizing travel, trade, and diplomatic relations between their two countries.
Armenia and Turkey last December named special envoys to discuss the normalization of ties. Four rounds of talks followed on January 14, February 24, May 3 and July 1. During their last meeting, they also agreed on commencing direct air cargo trade between Armenia and Turkey at the earliest possible date and decided to initiate the necessary process to that effect.
