The regional administration of Aragatsotn province has denied information alleging that a group of armed Turkish soldiers had crossed the border into Armenia and that the situation was tense.
According to some media reports, the Turks had captured shepherds who crossed the border, and then returned them.
“No Turks have entered Aragatsavan, they have not captured any shepherds,” the Aragatsotn regional administration said in a message on Thursday, July 21.
The Border Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in Armenia and the National Security Service of Armenia confirmed to Sputnik Armenia that the information was not true.
The Russian side and the Armenian NSS denied that some Turkish servicemen had illegally crossed the state border and harmed the residents of Aragatsavan.
