The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights is "shocked" by the video footage showing the execution of Armenian prisoners of war, the ODIHR said in a statement on Friday, October 7.
The ODIHR called for an immediate investigation of this and past reported crimes targeting civilians at the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. All parties to any conflict must respect international law, it added.
In footage published online over the past weekend, Azerbaijani troops are seen murdering several unarmed Armenian prisoners of war.
The latest round of fighting between the two countries began in the wee hours of September 13, when the Azerbaijani military attacked Armenian posts and shelled Armenian settlements both on the border and deep behind the frontline. More than 200 people are dead or missing as a result, the Security Council of Armenia said on Monday.
