Armenia vows efforts to ensure normal life in Karabakh

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has declared that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict cannot be considered settled without ensuring the security and protection of the rights of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Pashinyan made the remarks Saturday, September 2 – on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of Nagorno-Karabakh.

On September 2, 1991, a joint session of the provincial and Shahumyan Regional Council of Deputies was held in Stepanakert, where the Declaration of Independence was adopted. On December 10 of the same year a referendum was held to confirm the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh. On that day, 99% of the population voted for independence.

Pashinyan noted on Saturday that Armenia will continue to work to ensure normal life, security and protection of rights in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly declared that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has been resolved.
