The European Union Mission in Armenia has been witnessing “with concern” increased tensions and crossfire at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
“Last several days, the EUMA eye witnessed with concern the increased tensions and crossfire at the [Armenian-Azerbaijani] border areas. We reported on the situation to Brussels,” the Mission said on Twitter.
“Our patrols cover [Armenian-Azerbaijani] border areas & lines of confrontation to report on military & security developments to [EU].”
The latest round of fighting between the two countries was on September 1, when the Azerbaijani military attacked Armenian posts, killing three troops and injuring two others.
