Humanitarian cargo arrives from Buenos Aires to benefit Karabakh refugees

On October 21, a special flight left Buenos Aires bound for Yerevan, transporting humanitarian aid for the population that was forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh, as a result of the ethnic cleansing perpetrated by Azerbaijan, the Armenian Embassy in Argentina reveals.

The flight was organized by the Argentine Foreign Ministry and its White Helmets Commission, in collaboration with filmmaker and pilot Enrique Piñeyro's Solidaire Foundation.

The Embassy also expressed its deep gratitude to the Armenian community of Argentina, to all community institutions and individuals, who, with their dedicated work for the homeland, made the humanitarian mission a reality.

On September 19, Azerbaijan launched a military offensive against Nagorno-Karabakh, which left hundreds of Armenians killed and thousands of others displaced. On September 20, the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh agreed to a ceasefire on Azerbaijan’s terms, including the dissolution of the Defense Army. On September 18, President of the Republic of Artsakh Samvel Shahramanyan signed a decree, according to which the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) will cease to exist by January 1, 2024. Over 100,000 displaced residents have already fled Nagorno-Karabakh and reached Armenia.
