In the next 10 years, Armenia will pay $165 for every 1000 cubic meters of Russian natural gas, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia Garegin Baghramyan said on Tuesday, November 28, Novosti Armenia reports.
“The last review took place on August 1. The price remained unchanged, according to an intergovernmental agreement. If the price of gas at the border does not change, then I think there will be no revision (for domestic consumers either – Ed.),” Baghramyan told reporters on the sidelines of the forum Energy Week in Armenia.
Journalists asked whether political processes, in particular the deterioration of Armenian-Russian relations, could affect the current gas tariff. The head of PSRC in response refrained from answering questions of a political nature.
Gazprom is the only supplier of gas to Armenia for domestic consumption. Supplies of Russian gas to Armenian consumers are transited by Gazprom Armenia (a 100% subsidiary of Gazprom) through the territory of Georgia.
