Armenian, French defense academy reps talk cooperation

Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan and Ambassador of France to Yerevan Olivier Decottignies opened a French language auditorium at the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy in Yerevan on Saturday, February 2, the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Defense reveals.

The red ribbon was cut by a French military cadet studying in Armenia and an Armenian cadet going to France to study. The opening took place the day before, on February 2.

On the same day, the leaders of France’s Saint-Cyr Military Academy visited the Vazgen Sargsyan Academy.

The guests also met with Member of the Armenian Parliament, Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Commission on Defense and Security Issues Armen Khachatryan.

The delegation toured the academy buildings, learned about the premises and its material and technical base. The possibilities of bilateral cooperation were discussed.

In October 2023, the defense ministers of Armenia and France held negotiations in Paris, discussing a wide range of issues of military and military-technical cooperation, including the purchase of weapons, military educational programs, and exchange of experience. After the negotiations, a ceremony of signing documents on bilateral cooperation took place.
