Turkey has vowed to “stand” with Azerbaijan to protect stability” in the South Caucasus, according to media reports from Azerbaijan.

Turkish Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler said during a trip to Sanliurfa on Thursday, April 11 that Turkey will continue to support Azerbaijan's “just struggle”.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and mercenaries sent by Ankara, launched a large-scale offensive against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27, 2020. The war lasted 44 days. Three years after the war, Azerbaijan launched fresh hostilities and captured Karabakh entirely, forcibly displacing the entire indigenous Armenian population of Karabakh.
