The leader of the protest movement Tavush for the Motherland, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan no longer demands a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Galstanyan himself told reporters on Wednesday, May 29.

“Brute force and cruel attitude will not stop our struggle to achieve our goal. Nothing will stop us. He is not giving up yet, but that is not the question. The important thing is that he leaves. And he will leave,” Galstanyan said, according to Sputnik Armenia.

Galstanyan, who before the movement headed the Armenian Apostolic Church diocese in the northern Tavush province, declared earlier that he is ready to head a new, interim government tasked with stopping the “destruction of our homeland” and holding “pre-term or regular elections.”
