Armenia confirms will attend NATO summit in Washington

Armenia has confirmed its participation in the NATO summit in Washington in the format of partners and related events dedicated to the organization's 75th anniversary, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan said Friday, June 28, Armenpress reports.

Badalyan made the remarks when asked if Armenia had received an invitation from the U.S. to attend the NATO summit and if so, what was Armenia's response.

"Armenia has received an invitation to participate in the partner-format event of the NATO summit in Washington and related events marking the organization's 75th anniversary, and has confirmed its participation. There are no other arrangements at the moment," Badalyan said.

U.S. Assist ant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien, during a briefing in Baku, noted that the U.S. had invited Azerbaijan and Armenia to the meeting of partners within the framework of the NATO summit, to be held in Washington.
