Birthday of Charles Aznavour to be marked in Armenia and Karabakh
Initiated by Armenia's ministries of culture and foreign affairs, and supported by president Serzh Sargsyan concerts "Armenia, for you" devoted to 85th jubilee of the famous chanson Charles Aznavour between May 17 and 22 in Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.
Armenian music lovers will have a unique opportunity to listen to Seda Aznavour and Liz Sarian singing. Armenian-French orchestra under guidance of Frederick Manukyan will take part in the celebration.
The charitable concert scheduled for May 20 in Yerevan will be organized under auspices of first Lady Rita Sargsyan and all revenues will be directed to the fund for assistance to children with leukemia.
"Since my last visit in 1963 Armenia has changed a great deal. I am very happy to be here again," said Aida Aznavourian - Karvarenc, Aznavour's sister.
"Every visit is very important for me. During my last year visit my son married with an Armenian lady, I am very happy for it, " Seda Aznavourian, Aznavour's daughter said.
Seda Aznavourian and French Armenian singer Liz Saryan, who speak and sing in Armenian from childhood, will surprise the Armenian audience with their new performance of a song of Sayat Nova.
