Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of Aghdam City Hotel in Aghdam, a town that went under Baku’s control when Azerbaijan captured Nagorno-Karabakh, later forcibly deporting its inigenous Armenian population.

One media investigation says that the construction of the hotel has been being carried out by PMD Group LLC, which is part of a structural subdivision of PASHA Holding, which in turn belongs to members of President Ilham Aliyev’s family, JAM News reported earlier.

In addition to the hotel, PMD Group has also started construction of another hotel and a residential complex in the town of Aghdam.
