Armenia Deputy PM sheds light on next stage of demarcation

Armenia is preparing for the next meeting on the delimitation and demarcation of the border with Azerbaijan, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan told Factor TV on Monday, December 9.

Grigoryan made the remarks when asked about the Armenian-Azerbaijani border demarcation process.

According to him, no exact date has been agreed yet.

Grigoryan heads the Commission on the Demarcation of the State Border and Border Security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that there have been discussions about where the next stage of demarcation should begin: “Different versions were discussed during the last meeting, but I cannot say anything more, there is an agreement to limit public speech to the information that has been officially published.”

After bilateral talks on October 24 between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, the presidents of Armenia and then Azerbaijan signed decrees enacting the regulations of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border delimitation and demarcation commissions.
