U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson emphasizes Trump's potential to mediate peace in the South Caucasus.
The Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives and chairman of the Helsinki Commission, Joe Wilson, has expressed his belief that the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump could help establish peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Wilson shared this viewpoint on X.
According to Wilson, just as Trump fosters peace in the Middle East, he could achieve similar success in the case of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“We can make the Caucasus great again by building a region based on shared peace and prosperity. For this, a peace agreement between the great peoples of Azerbaijan and Armenia is essential. Just as Donald Trump brings peace to the Middle East, he will do the same in the Caucasus,” Wilson’s post reads.
Earlier, the Republican congressman welcomed the signing of a strategic cooperation document between Armenia and the U.S., describing it as a significant achievement. He noted that “a South Caucasus free from Russian and Iranian influence will be more peaceful and prosperous than ever before.”
