At its January 23 session, the government approved a program to provide support for export promotion. The assistance will be provided for exports made between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2026.
The target markets include EU member states, the United Kingdom, and Northern Ireland, as these markets demand high standards. Temporary support in these markets will allow local companies to establish a foothold, adapt their products to the required standards, and become more competitive.
The support will focus on specific product categories and will be temporary. According to evaluations, the maximum annual amount of support for exports to the EU and the UK is estimated at around AMD 15 billion.
This program will enable Armenian resident companies or individual entrepreneurs registered in Armenia to export goods of Armenian origin and receive support, helping them to establish themselves in export markets during the initial period and promote their products.
To ensure an efficient and simple system for calculating the support amount, the program will use the customs value of the goods declared by the exporting country and the actual customs duty rate applied in the importing country as a basis for calculations.
The decision is expected to boost the export of Armenian-made goods to international markets, increase export volumes, and enhance the recognition of Armenian brands.
