Ankara rejects Trump’s plan to deport Palestinians

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Ankara is firmly opposed to U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to other countries. He described the plan as “inhumane.”

As TRT reports, speaking at a joint press conference in Doha with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Fidan emphasized that such an initiative blatantly contradicts international humanitarian law and must be condemned by the global community. He also voiced support for a declaration adopted in Cairo the previous day to protect the Palestinian population.

Additionally, the Turkish minister noted that Ankara is willing to accept some of the Palestinian prisoners released by Israel as part of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

“Our president stated that we are ready to accept some of the released Palestinians to support the agreement. Turkey, along with other countries, will contribute to ensuring the continuation of the ceasefire,” Fidan said.

The Turkish Foreign Minister’s visit to Qatar is expected to continue for another two days.
