During a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in Washington, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia’s long-term survival can only be guaranteed if the country learns to exist among its neighbors without external support.
He also acknowledged that, due to certain circumstances, "a strong negative perception has formed against us in the region," reports Auroranews.am .
"This does not mean that we should not or will not have alliances with different geopolitical centers.
We must see ourselves as a factor in solving our own problems. Typically, when we face issues in the region, our reaction has been to seek help from one place or another. However, due to certain circumstances, a strong negative perception has developed against us in the region.
It is crucial that we manage this negativity. There are several ways to do so. We are taking the right approach by trying to handle it in a balanced manner, without giving in to emotions. Otherwise, this negativity will manifest very quickly,"* he said.
On February 1, Nikol Pashinyan and his wife, Anna Hakobyan, traveled to the United States to attend the 5th Annual International Religious Freedom Summit and the National Prayer Breakfast.
