Foreigners in Armenia not required to file income declarations

Foreign nationals residing in Armenia are not required to submit income declarations, the State Revenue Committee (PEC) announced.

An exception applies if a foreign citizen has received taxable income, for which they must independently calculate and pay income tax.

"A misunderstanding occurred regarding the obligations of foreign nationals during a parliamentary discussion on annual income declarations for individuals," the PEC clarified.

Specifically, the committee reiterated that foreigners in Armenia are not required to submit income declarations.

The only exception is when a foreigner receives taxable income, requiring them to calculate and pay the income tax independently—for instance, if they rent out property they own in Armenia. Only in such cases must they submit an income declaration," the statement explained.

The income declaration deadline was originally set for May 1 but has been extended to November 1. All salaried employees must file declarations.
