Armenian goods will be digitally marked for export to the EAEU, following a government decision.
The regulation applies to several product categories, including dairy products, beer, soft drinks, cosmetics, canned goods, and more. These items are currently subject to both domestic and EAEU labeling mechanisms.
Due to these dual standards, a new digital identification system will be introduced to regulate labeling for such products. Until now, businesses have used stamp-based labeling for domestic sales, Sputnik Armenia reports.
According to the government’s summary, the current system does not fully transmit product unit data to the State Revenue Committee, limiting traceability.
The digital labeling system will be implemented in phases:
-March 1, 2025 – Beverages, canned food
-June 1, 2025 – Dairy products
-September 1, 2025 – Oils
-January 1, 2026 – Pharmaceuticals
EAEU member states have developed a new identification marking standard, which is being actively integrated into national systems.
