Greenhouse exports from Armenia grow to $118.5 million

Armenia exported $118.5 million worth of greenhouse products in 2024, a significant rise from $74.4 million in 2023, according to Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan, who presented the figures at a government meeting.

Papoyan noted that between 2019 and 2024, 56 hectares of greenhouse farming projects were approved and implemented under state support programs. The government's goal for 2026 is to establish 35 hectares of modern greenhouses equipped with advanced technology.

According to the minister, in 2023, Armenia harvested approximately 96,000 tons of vegetables from 1,167 hectares of greenhouses, 2,200 tons of berries from 45 hectares, and about 101 million flowers from 190 hectares, Sputnik Armenia reported.

Papoyan also highlighted that Armenia currently has 1,500 hectares of greenhouses, with over 250 hectares equipped with modern technology.

It was noted that the greenhouse support programs allow for the establishment of larger greenhouse facilities, with beneficiaries eligible for subsidized loans of up to 15 billion drams, enabling the creation of greenhouses covering up to 20 hectares.
