The second Pan-Armenian Winter Games have come to an end, and the ceremonial flame has been extinguished.
The official closing ceremony took place in Jermuk, attended by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office and Chairman of the Games’ Governmental Organizing Committee Arayik Harutyunyan, President of the Pan-Armenian Games World Committee Ishkhan Zakaryan, and other officials, Armenpress reports.
According to President Vahagn Khachaturyan, the Games once again united Armenians from different corners of the world.
Arayik Harutyunyan, addressing the audience, admitted that he had not expected the Games to turn into such a bright and festive event.
"We succeeded because we saw competition, unity, and brotherhood in every game. Events like this give us the opportunity to develop our capabilities. A huge thank you to our compatriots in Vayots Dzor, especially the city of Jermuk, for their hospitality. From now on, Jermuk will be remembered as the capital of the second Pan-Armenian Winter Games, just as in the case of the Olympic Games," Harutyunyan stated.
The President of the Pan-Armenian Games World Committee, Ishkhan Zakaryan, declared the second Winter Games a success.
The Best Delegation award went to the Kotayk Region delegation. The Fair Play award was given to Montreal’s team. The Discovery of the Games award was presented to the Volgograd team, while the Sportsmanship and Courage award was granted to the Lebanon team.
