Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a meeting with parliamentarians from CSTO member states to review last year’s cooperation results and outline the future development of the collective security system.
“The key results of the CSTO’s multifaceted cooperation in 2024 were discussed, along with the main directions for further development of the collective security system, strengthening the parliamentary dimension of the organization, and deepening foreign policy coordination. A thorough exchange of views took place on pressing issues of the international and regional agenda,” the statement reads, according to Interfax.
The meeting in Moscow was attended by the chairpersons of parliamentary committees responsible for international relations, defense, and security from CSTO member states. Also present were the ambassadors of CSTO countries and the organization's Secretary General, Imangali Tasmagambetov.
