Newly formed party to oppose Pashinyan's re-election

During the founding congress of the United National Socialist Party, initiated by former Civil Contract Party (CCP) member Hovik Aghazaryan, he informed reporters that the party's president and board members have been elected. Aghazaryan declared their intention to prevent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from being re-elected, as reported by Factor.am .

"We did not find it appropriate to join any existing political force. Our goal is to fight so that during the upcoming regular or possible early elections, Nikol Pashinyan is not re-elected and does not become prime minister again," Aghazaryan stated.

He emphasized that during the elections, they will present their programs to the public.

When asked whether their agenda includes demanding the government's resignation, Aghazaryan responded that they do not plan street protests.

"No, don't look at it that way. When we say we demand the government's resignation, it means we should bring that issue to the agenda starting tomorrow. We want to present ourselves to the people through elections; there will be no street struggle," he said.

Previously, by decision of the CCP board, Hovik Aghazaryan was expelled from the Civil Contract Party for leaking confidential information of state and party significance, as well as gross violations of public moral norms.

In an interview with Public Television, Prime Minister Pashinyan stated that he had asked CCP deputies Narek Zeynalyan and Hovik Aghazaryan to resign their parliamentary mandates, expressing hope that Hovik Aghazaryan would comply with his request. Zeynalyan resigned, while Aghazaryan, apparently, refused Pashinyan's request.
