‘Anora’ wins top honors at PGA and DGA Awards

Director Sean Baker's film "Anora" has garnered significant recognition by winning the top prizes at both the Producers Guild of America (PGA) Awards and the Directors Guild of America (DGA) Awards, AP News reports.

These accolades are considered strong indicators for potential success at the upcoming Academy Awards.

The film features Armenian actors Karren Karagulian and Vache Tovmasyan in prominent roles. "Anora" had previously won the Palme d'Or at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival and was honored as Best Picture at the Critics Choice Awards.

Competing for the PGA Award were films such as "The Brutalist," "A Complete Unknown," "The Conclave," "Dune: Part Two," "Emilia Pérez," "I'm Still Here," "September 5," "The Substance," and "Wicked."
