Professional tennis player Elina Avanesyan began her Qatar Masters campaign with a victory.

In the first round of the WTA tournament in Doha, Avanesyan faced China's Wang Xinyu. After nearly three hours of play, Avanesyan won in three sets with a score of 7:6, 1:6, 7:6, Armenpress reports.

Since August 2024, Avanesyan has been competing under the Armenian flag.

Her best career ranking so far has been No. 41 in the WTA rankings.
