Azerbaijan submits additional documents against Armenia to The Hague

Azerbaijan has recently submitted supplementary documents to the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague regarding its ongoing case against Armenia. According to the office of Yeghishe Kirakosyan, Armenia's representative on international legal matters, this submission pertains to a case initiated several years ago. Following the initial filing, the court granted Azerbaijan time to prepare comprehensive documentation, which was submitted on February 12.

Previously, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Baku had filed a lawsuit against Armenia at the Permanent Court of Arbitration, seeking compensation for alleged environmental damage and the purported destruction of unique ecosystems in Nagorno-Karabakh. The claim is based on the 1979 Bern Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats.

Armenian officials have previously stated that the issues raised by the Azerbaijani side in this legal process are not related to the provisions of the Bern Convention.
