VOMA (Art of Survival), a military-patriotic public organization, has responded to the fabricated charges brought against former Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan during his ongoing trial in Baku. One of the accusations involves VOMA itself.
The organization's founder and president, Vova Vartanov, stated on Facebook that the charges against Vardanyan are absurd and that the trial is inhumane, aimed not only at Armenians but at all of humanity.
"VOMA has never been a terrorist organization and has never threatened anyone, unlike the terrorist regime of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. We have always been well aware of how closely Turkish intelligence monitors organizations that advocate for the nation-army concept—not just their activities, but also their statements," the post reads.
Regarding Ruben Vardanyan’s alleged connection to VOMA, the organization clarified that he had only attended a single survival training session aimed at imparting life-sustaining skills and knowledge. VOMA also stated that it had never received financial support from him.
Baku has accused Ruben Vardanyan of organizing "Nemesis-2" against Azerbaijani diplomats. He is also charged with illegally crossing Azerbaijan's border in September 2022, financing armed groups through the Aurora Foundation and other organizations, supplying and storing weapons, and allegedly paying members of illegal armed groups. According to the charges, Vardanyan also purportedly collaborated with VOMA's leader, Vladimir Vartanov, for militant training.
