Vardan Ghukasyan not arrested by Interpol, lawyer says

Lawyer Levon Baghdasaryan has denied reports that Vardan Ghukasyan, founder and chairman of the DOK party, has been arrested by Interpol. In a Facebook post, he dismissed these claims as untrue.

“There are circulating rumors—on social media, in the press, and even on the streets—that Vardan Ghukasyan has allegedly been beaten, kidnapped, murdered, arrested by Interpol, tried, or is terminally ill.

I officially declare that these are falsehoods and do not reflect reality. These fake reports will also receive legal assessment,” the lawyer stated.

According to him, Ghukasyan has temporarily suspended his public appearances due to ongoing legal proceedings and concerns about his business reputation.

“For reasons of legal confidentiality and in the interest of justice, I kindly ask Vardan Ghukasyan’s supporters not to overwhelm our law office with thousands of calls and messages,” Baghdasaryan added.

Earlier, Hetq reported that Vardan Ghukasyan is currently held at the Henderson Detention Center in Las Vegas and that he was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
