The U.S. customs and border control team's visit to Armenia has been postponed. Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan cited the U.S. administration change as the reason for the delay, emphasizing that the agreement remains valid, reports Aysor.am .
During the signing of the U.S.-Armenia Strategic Partnership Charter, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that a team specializing in customs and border control would arrive in Armenia in the coming weeks to assist local partners in enhancing border security capabilities.
He also emphasized that the U.S. supports Armenia's efforts to protect its independence and sovereignty within its own territory.
