Igdir-Nakhijevan gas pipeline launched

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who is currently on a visit to Turkey, participated via video link in the opening ceremony of the Igdir-Nakhijevan gas pipeline.

The event was emphasized as a significant moment for “Turkish-Azerbaijani friendship and brotherhood.”

Azerbaijan’s president underlined that the Igdir-Nakhijevan gas pipeline plays a crucial role in ensuring Nakhijevan’s energy supply, according to Minval.az .

"The gas entering Nakhijevan through Turkish territory will also resolve the autonomous republic's gas supply issue," he stated.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between Ankara and Baku, based on the “one nation, two states” principle, APA reports.

Erdogan highlighted that numerous strategic projects have already been jointly implemented with Azerbaijan, adding that “the Igdir-Nakhijevan pipeline will complement energy strategic initiatives.”

He also stated that “both countries seek only stability, peace, and cooperation for the region’s shared development.”

"We have already taken many steps in this direction, demonstrating sincerity. We are determined to continue implementing all projects aimed at peace and prosperity in the region. Just as our beloved Azerbaijan stood by us during Turkey's earthquake, in the most difficult times, we will always stand by our brothers whenever needed," he declared.
